Profile
Dr. Linda Woodhouse is a physical therapist and an exercise physiologist. She is an Assistant Professor (School of Rehabilitation Science) at McMaster University and a Scientific Affiliate at Hamilton Health Sciences in the Departments of Rehabilitation and Orthopaedics, and at the Sunnybrook Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in the Department of Surgery.
Linda's research is focused on:
- Developing and evaluating new integrated models of interprofessional care for individuals living with chronic diseases (osteoarthritis and cancer) – from institution (advanced practice roles) to the community (partnering with the YMCA/HHS).
- Evaluating pain, physical and functional capacity and the relationship between structure and function in individuals with musculoskeletal and endocrine disorders.
- Evaluating the effects of anabolic agents and exercise on sarcopenia and function using models of aging, musculoskeletal disease, cachexia (cancer, HIV), hypogonadism, growth hormone deficiency and excess.
